Questions for brake experts
Time to do the brakes on my 997.1 C2. My issue is that I like the brakes that I have... but I do not know what they are. I am wondering how owners that purchased used P-cars have dealt with this in the past. I do not track the car and don't need "diamond hard" pads. If there is a way to identify the pads that I have or otherwise avoid trial and error pad iterations that would be great.
My rotors seem fine in terms of pulsing/warps but new pads on old rotors sounds like a pad bedding nightmare. Anyone get good results after resurfacing? I haven't measures their thickness yet.

You mean identify the brand/manufacturer of the pads that are currently in the car?

Check the rotors and if they look good and without severe ridges ..... Just replace the pads with OEM - jurid, textar, pagid ... Don't get caught up in the "pad thing" just replace with oem and you wont get brake squeal and you will be good for atleat another 20k . I usally replace the rotors every other pad change ....
