Default Value of 997.2 S with 125k miles

Sorry for another "what's it worth" post, but in all my reading on the 997.2, I just haven't seen much about how to value a really high-mileage car. I've just had one come up in my search as follows:

997.2 S with 125k miles
No accidents, but "damage" reported on carfax "damge to front)
1 owner
lots of oil changes on carfax
lots of good options: sports chrono, sports seats, etc.

What's a decent price?

(Obviously this would depend upon a THOROUGH PPI.)

125k miles on a 9A1 engine is low mileage.

Yep.

I think I'm more worried about the impact of the reported "damage" on carfax than I am about the high miles.

I got a one owner, clean car fax, full history from Porsche dealership in Walnut Creek on a base 2009 997.2 manual with 100,060 miles for $33k. A 997.2 C2S at $36k seems a steal despite reported damage as you mentioned above,

Yep, if "damage" was no airbags deployed and not structural, it might be a good deal. I would not be afraid of the mileage if maintenance checked out. I think these cars can do 200k miles plus if maintained properly.

FWIW, almost four years in, 80K miles of my own, and 115K miles on the odometer, I would not relinquish my keys for less than I paid to get those keys.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. But high mileage shouldn't scare anyone away from these great cars.

You sir, are the owner that Porsche built these cars for. Drive them and enjoy them for many miles. I commend you for enjoying your car and I hope you double those miles!!

Completely concurred. This ain't the 70's and 80's. Take care of the engine with maintenance and repairs, and it'll run an unreasonably long time before you need a rebuild. (Rings are wear parts too.) I'm dropping my cash on a GTS with 60k miles and not the least concerned now. Sure, the body isn't as pristine as the 12k examples. But it's clean, rust-free, runs strong and straight, and has been properly repaired and maintained.

I would say... this is the re-enactment of the '80s' 3.2 Carreras known to go strong beyond 200k miles.

I was honored to see this very car less than 12 hours ago. Over 200K miles and looking like a car with only 5K. Well kept and indicative of the cars Porsche is capable of making.

We all benefit from this stupid concept that cars lose half of their value after 100,000 miles. I don't see the reason for it. If this 1966 Volvo can reach 3M miles.... what's stopping any Porsche? Only commitment.

Agreed! I just got a hell of a deal on a 987.2 Cayman S with 92k miles on it. Car had impeccable service records all done at the dealership and I pretty much stole it because of this superstition.

I’d be more worried about a car that was a garage queen/super low miles. A higher mileage car, with proper service documentation, is a great daily driver.
