997.2 Introduction!
Hi Rennlist,
Just picked up a long time dream car of mine and figured I would post a little introduction as I have been passively on the forums for close to a year learning and absorbing as much information as possible.
Here are a few of my past vehicles:
The 911 is a 2010 base C2 with 36K miles. I picked it up on June 8th and hit a few bumps along the way- will elaborate on that later. Car has an otherwise great history with maintenance, a recent clutch replacement and HPFP replacement.
Build and options:
Black on Black
Heated front Seats
Bluetooth Interface
PCM
Bose
Universal Audio interface
Colormatched mats
Self Dimming Mirrors
Colored wheel Caps
5MM Spacers
19" Carrera S II Wheels
Sport Seats
PASM
The car was purchased and unfortunately ended up in the shop almost immediately as an oil leak had developed on my journey home. A lesson learned on getting PPIs- not all are created equal. My shop smoke tested and dyed the car and found that the intake manifold gasket was completely rotted/dried but could not directly find the source of the oil leak so the engine was subsequently dropped to address any issues.
Car ended up having a faulty AOS. The increased crankcase pressure caused oil to build up in the intake and actually seep through the failed manifold seals; hence the small drip after driving. ~$200 in parts and 14 hours of labor. I had the shop address anything while the engine is out and do a refresher of spark plugs and normal wear items.
First order of business was to do a full paint correction. Porsche paint was great to work with. I started with Meguires 105 and finished with some Jescar Finishing Polish. I then sealed and coated the car with CQuartz ceramic coating. Since then I have added an alcantara shifter, clear corners as well as a Fabspeed intake.
Some more little things to come! Plan to keep it simple, drive, and enjoy:
Coilovers
Exhaust
Wheels
I look forward to getting involved in the community and learning more about these cars. It has been a great journey so far and I am excited for the future!

Congrats and welcome! Gorgeous 997.2 - nothing beats a black car right after paint correction/polish/ceramic
Our Carbon Fiber Competition Air Intake is a great start. If you're looking to add a bit more sound, I'd recommend our 997.2 Center Muffler Bypass X-Pipe and/or Sport Headers. You'll pick up approx +15whp but most notably a throaty yet refined exhaust note with no Check Engine Lights.

Thanks all.
I thought I was a little crazy for worrying about this as I figured there was some degree of engineering to avoid that very issue (i.e.; driving or sitting in the rain). I worried about it with the stock airbox too given that the vents fed directly into the filters. I do not know if there is an answer, but I have washed the car twice. Once pre-correction (pre-intake, as well) and yesterday after the 7-day cure period was over (post intake). I did take care to not spray right into the vents but, there was no significant sign of water in the engine bay and I went for a drive about an hour after the wash and saw/heard no issues. I'd be curious to hear the answer. I might wrap the filters next wash as I am still bothered by the potential of something happening.

I come from the Audi community and figured now was the time to make the transition. Here are a few of my past vehicles:

Thank you everyone. Excited to be part of the community!
Thank you, great car. Still own it at 232k miles. Not particularly fond of the badging, but the previous owner had good intentions. It was the original S car, and the chassis is referred to as the Type 44; thus S44.
