How dumb can I be, Help pleas
I put top up on a 997.2 last night when I got home and left key in ignition in on setting overnight.
Car dead, tail up, cannot pull key out or open any hatches.
Any suggestions?

Do you have a battery maintainer? If you do, plug in for a few hours. Turn key off.
Jump the car. Be careful and note polarity.
How's your driveway slope? Let it roll, pop the clutch.

Depends. How old is it? One of the worst things to do to a modern battery is to drain it like you did. You certainly did it no favors. Once you get going again, drive it, and get a battery maintainer (will take 2-3 days to fully charge). See how it behaves. If your battery is about 4 years old, or more, yes, I'd proactively replace it. Worth the $$. Buy a new battery at anyplace like; Walmart, Pep Boys, AutoZone, Sears, etc. May even consider an upgraded AGM style battery, but those cost over $200. The others are about 1/2 that.

Unlikely you need to replace the battery even though running your battery down is not good for it. If the battery is only a few years old, just jump it and take a nice, long ride. If the battery is past the 5 year mark, you might want to consider a replacement while all is still working well.

I found a procedure, worth a try I'd say: How to open hood with a dead battery
Lol, why in the heck did the tail go up? Wouldn't it be better if the frunk hatch popped up instead of the tail when the battery is going dead?

Ouch. Had my car detailed when I first got it and they did the same.
The PSM failure CEL will clear after driving for a couple hundred feat but make sure to check all your windows and accessories to ensure they are working correctly. Seems to be a 50/50 where the windows can get wonky and your heated seats can stop working. Windows will typically reset after a couple up/down presses but if you heated seats stop working you need to bring it to your indy to have them reset into delivery mode on PIWIS. If you tried to start it you will also have a bunch of codes that need to be cleared out. Good luck.

I did the exact same thing. Felt like an idiot, but felt better after reading about others who had also had the same brain lapse. On someone's advice, I went to Walmart and purchased a $20 battery maintainer, plugged it into the cigarette lighter, and the hood instantly popped open. The great thing about these forums is that, no matter how stupid of a thing I think I've done, there are always others who have beat me to it.
