Default 6 MT magnetic drain plug.

My car is a 997.2 with MT.
Anyone use magnetic drain plug ?
The original plugs are not magnetic and I like to change to one that is magnetic. Oddly, I couldn't find the correct ones for 997.2.
Any suggestions ?

Try Autohaus AZ, looking for LN engineering p/n 10607. $25. This fits 997.2 Porsche.

2009 C2S 125K miles

I use one... I can't remember where I purchased it... I think it is an LN I got from Pelican... don't really remember. (BTW - torque spec is way lower than normal plug)

I love mine... I can;t wait to pull that thing off and see the carnage... what will I find? Massive chunks of shiny REDRUM terror? Did it grab a whole piston? A lost screwdriver? A pulled filling from a factory worker's tooth? A mouse?

These magnets are gifts that keep giving... forever entertainment.

For a 997.2 manual transmission.... https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog...pg3.htm#item11

Peace

I wonder if the OP is asking about the MT drain plug? The OEM drain plug for the MT is not magnetic. Does anyone know of a magnetic drain plug for the MT for the 997.2 6 MT?

I meant for the 6MT transmission magnetic drain plug, not for the engine oil drain plug.

I have most of my neurosis under control for another thirty seconds so I had better type faster... The oil and manual transmission drain plugs are exactly the same and use the same aluminum washers. This is true for the 997.1 and 997.2. I have installed them on both the oil pan and manual transmissions on my 2008 and 2012 Carreras and the world continues to turn. Bruce is correct about the torque values for the LN engineering magnetic plugs. They are torqued to 19 foot pounds.
