Battery options?

Battery options?
Hey Guys -
Car battery has been going dead a lot recently. Not sure if something is draining it more than usual, but I'm probably going to need a new battery at some point, which is unfortunate since it's only a year old.
Did a lot of reading on battery recommendations on here, but curious if there are any new recommendations as of 2018. Lots of the suggestions folks have made were from 5+ years ago. And some of the recommended noes are no longer available.
Thanks,
Chris

Unless your racing and need really light weight, a battery is a battery is a battery. It's 12 volts and a minimum of 750 CCA's
Buy from a national retailer. Then if you have a failure, you can get a replacement anywhere, anytime.
Specialty batteries mean specialty stores operating on specialty hours charging specialty prices.

Here is the research from my purchase late last year. I ended up with the Walmart battery although the Bosch was my first choice, however it was unavailable at the time. The Walmart unit was less expensive and ~4 lbs less weight than the Bosch, so perhaps it was a tie for value/benefits:
1/ Walmart EverStart Maxx MAXX-H7 (replaced EverStart MAXX 94R)
Lead Acid Automotive Battery, Group Size H7
790cca, reserve min = 130
$149.76
https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart...ze-H7/20531542
2/ Bosch Premium Battery
Part #: 49-850BAGM
850cca/1020ca, reserve min = 160
$188.89
https://www.pepboys.com/product/deta...03.8L%2520DOHC
3/ Interstate Mega-Tron Plus
Product ID: MTP-H7(Automotive Truck)
790cca
$199.95
https://www.interstatebatteries.com/products/mtp-94r-h7
Post-install system re-set as per another thread:
"BREAK-IN: As others have noted - after replacement: reset clock, press accelerator fully to the floor and release a few times, roll windows completely down and up. Indicated PSM and PASM faults cleared as soon as I hit like 5 mph.

I get my H7 battery from Walmart. Just check the date sticker to ensure that it is not too old. You want it to be less than 6 months old. Less than 3 months old is better. I also charge my battery with a regular car battery charger ( not a maintainer/trickle charger) before installing. This took about 20 minutes at 2 amps for the last one I purchased. It was only 2 months old when I purchased it.

Nice, you'll like it. A bit late but another vote for the Bosch from Pep Boys. Just don't allow the AGM batteries to reach a discharged state. They're not as forgiving from a resuscitation perspective as the standard lead-acid type. I had the front-end module flake out on me (excessive draw) and it absolutely killed the AGM over 4 days sitting in garage.

I use the Optima red top in my cars. I believe they're coming out with a yellow top in our size too, which is a hybrid between the deep cycle blue top and the starting red top. That's what I'll go to if I ever need to replace it, but I'm at 6 years on one, and 5 years on the other with no signs of diminished performance. Slightly smaller size so you need to modify the mounting, but I wanted smaller initially because it allowed me to mount the control box and compressor for my noselift system in that vacated space and cover everything with the stock beauty panels.

We do get a luxury some people dont have, and thats a cover to cover it.
My car has an autozone battery in it from the previous owner, and if it was visible I'd have replaced it already
