Finally received the maxton lip, and got to installing everything. I did the vent yesterday, and put the nose back on. The lip arrived today, and of course it installs woth 14 bolts. This is a quality piece, no doble sticky tape and self tap screws here. So now i am well practiced in the nose removal.
overall everyhting went well. The rennline kit was fairly easy. Only struggle was the worry if it was straight and centered, otherwise easy. The lip was also reasonably easy with the nose off. Clearance with the H&R springs is almost 4”, so not crazy. I still need to be cautious with my driveway, and entrances, but easily streetable here in florida
I have a question on the Maxton material . It seems they use ABS. Is it flexible enough to bump and not break easily ( comparing to urethane ) or is it like Fiberglass (easily broken but repairable)?
This was my 997.2 Maxton lip - It bottomed out at high speed (3 figures) and ripped half of it off . So yes they are pretty brittle, its a type of ABS plastic.
