"CONCLUSION Best thing to do is go buy one, start the car and drive. Keep the RPMs under 3k until the engine warms up, which does not take long. Note: slow drives at low RPM are an unhealthy diet for this engine. Burn good fuel and drive hard. That is what this engine needs and loves."
Not sure why Anyone would drive aggressive with ANY car when it's not up to temp yet.....smh.

Good info, I always wonder WHY Porsche doesn't have a rev limiter, or at least warning system for cold engines? I remember my 2007 Audi RS4 did that, you basically couldn't rev-up high when cold... it's a good idea to have that on these cars.

I have literally put 60k to 80k miles on half dozen brand new turbos and 30k to 50k on and half dozen more brand new turbos without any engine problems what so ever and I NEVER babied them hot or cold and a lot of them had a tune or much more.
I think the DFIs are pretty solid as well. Over the last 30 years, I never heard any of this stay below 3k rpms nonsense until all of the M96/97s started grenadining. That my friends is a design problem, not a driving problem.
For 20 plus years, we would just throw these things on the track and the only thing slowing us down was waiting on tires to warm up, but we were still hitting the revs hard waiting on the tires to grip.

My engine temp goes up to 175 pretty quickly, but the oil temp takes forever to move off of 150. I think I've seen it hit 175 once when it was 79 outside (the hottest day I have driven my C2S). No need for AC here; I usually have the top down if it's warmer than about 64 degrees.
