Default Aero bumper came today!

Well, I am somewhat surprised it actually came given some of the stories I read online about trying to get the aero bumper ordered/shipped. It came today in a giant box and with all equipment needed to install.

I have a bit of a dilemma - to have it painted to match would cost about $700. Now... I can buy enough vinyl to wrap the entire car for less than that. Should I wrap my car? Is this a stupid idea? I love the deep blues that 3M offers... help me out, RLers!

Its your car do what you want. $700 isnt a wallet buster. In a sea of silver, grey and black 997's go for it. If you dont like it you are out 700 clams and its reversible.

I ordered one the other day. Two dealers said there was 1 left in the US, and 10 in Deutschland. Ones from over seas can take a weeks I was told. Hopefully mine is the US one.

I'd paint it so it's done properly, then wrap the car. It's a Porsche 911. It's worth doing right.

Given the compound curves on a 911, I would not try to wrap one unless you’ve done it before. It’s like people that apply tint on their own and it looks like crap.

u can find better deal than 700..the bumper already come primer so its just some cleaning and paint.. thats the price for a bare bumper that needs prep prime and paint.. so u should be able to bring that down..

Thank you all for the sensible discussion. I too felt that $700 was pretty steep for paint only, given that the bumper is already primed. I'll look around for better deals. Can't wait to get it installed.

Got it from Porsche parts now, for about $1300 shipped. They said it was their last one in the warehouse and it took about 2 weeks from order to arrival.
