Default Almost every 997 has this problem

I keep seeing this over and over - what appears to be a mis-aligned front bumper and hood when looking from the front of the car. When there is a top view the gap seems consistent but from the front it looks as though a minor accident has pushed the bumper up or is this some type of 'swelling' from age ?

(Apologies for unfortunate subject line - I am new to the 997 world and repeatedly noticed this while looking)

Aren't there rubber buffers threaded under the lower forward corners of the hood which are meant for aligning that hood seam? (Or maybe into the body itself rather than the hood - I can't check mine just now).

How many have you seen that have this problem? Maybe this bumper was removed for paint and not re-installed correctly.

I've looked at maybe a hundred and as a photographer, I am aware of tricks of light and perspective as well as many cars have a clear shield but I don't think they are thick enough to cause the problem.

Here's some more -

PS (only cowards and zit faced teenagers use the word 'troll' these days)

I've been advised that the bonnet should sit slightly lower than front bar for aero reasons. First time I heard I called shennanigans, but over the past 4 years I've heard it from different sources, so unsure. Mine sits slightly lower fyi.

Not just 997, my 996 has a slight warp on the RHD looking at the front, my chevy volt has it too on the rear bumper. I believe its caused by plastic deformation over time, the polyurethane sags etc. If you're really brave you could try heating it to straighten it back up.

Thanks - I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I needed to worry about while trying to buy.

hard to tell if the hood is also sitting lower than the fender from this angle but it's easily adjustable at the frunk latch. Two screws... loosen, move the latch up a smidge (official metric), tighten,
