Oily deposits on outside rims of the wheel wells
My apologies if this has already been posted and responded to. I searched and didn't find it. Please direct me accordingly if it has been a post before, please.
I have noticed on occasion and typically after a longer drive, oily, greasy deposits (not a great deal, but certainly noticeable) on the outside rim of some and sometimes all 4 of the wheel wells. I've checked the fluid levels I'm able to short of crawling under the car, and all are good. No hard shifting and the clutch is fine, etc. It's happening fairly consistently, wipes off easily, has no odor, and is a cosmetic thing unless the forum tells me otherwise.
So, I'm wondering if this could be tire residue (Continentals) from soft tires?
Thanks!

Yes, I freaked out years ago when I saw the same thing on my Datsun 280 ZX Turbo.
Tip.... after application, wipe with a dry towel. Or, use a product that advertises "no fling"..... Zaino tire dressing dries within an hour or less and I slop it on with no after-wipe... no fling.
Peace
