997 market hot ?
I'm getting the sense that demand is high right now. The three cars I inquired about in week 1 of being ready to buy have all been sold.
It's hard to bargain when there's a buyer and 4 more in line if the deal falls through. All of these cars had accidents in the CARFAX.
I might have to settle for a cabriolet as crazy as that sounds.....

Plenty more will pop up. Wait for exactly what you want then jump on it.
This looks like it might be a good deal? https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...5319/overview/ Edit: read what they are saying in the classified section first.

The ideal car - silver (artic/platinum) coupe 997.2, PDK, full leather (red or black with red stitching), Carrera or S with Sport Chrono, no accidents, up to 70k miles, solid PPI, 2010 preferred. Thinking this should be in the $40-50k range.

I was trying to explain my 911 coupe obsession to my wife when she asked "why this car? you didn't even know about it until a few days ago."
I explained - "that's true - but in my mind this car has been there for 40 years". A silver 1969 911 T coupe that was often parked in a neighbor's driveway on my walk home from school in 1977.

Tough market out there! I posted that I fell into 2 really nice cars (a minty 21k cream white PDK bought here a couple of months back) and a local C4S manual, both with tremendous service history and in great condition. I felt very fortunate. These cars just don't come up often. Keep feelers out: you never know what will pop up or get traded in. If someone in your local PCA or enthusiast facebook group is thinking of selling their car, make sure everyone knows you are in the market before they take it to the dealer and trade it for less than you will buy it for.

Based on other info posted here, expect to pay around $2500-3,000 less per 10k miles on the car, and around a $5-10k premium for base vs S/4S. You certainly could get a base with 50,000 miles in the low 40's. Finding a C2S with 20,000 miles for $50k is not likely to happen, at least not without an accident history.

Be patient. I looked for 6 months, had to select a 3rd choice color to get the mileage and options I wanted. Found an 07 C2 with 20k for $39500. Had to go get it. It was worth the wait!! Good luck.
