Help - Brakes locking up initially during Autocross
Hi, I have a 2010 Carrera S with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (245/35/19 in front, 295/30/19 rear). This has been my first autocross season. I've been experience partial brake lock up when I stab the brakes going into a turn; PSM is off. The tires will squeal a bit before getting grip. I'd expect the ABS to kick-in much sooner, but it doesn't. After my autocross session yesterday, I slammed the brakes leaving the track and the tires locked up initially. Later, I was driving home and decided to test the brakes. With PSM on and off, ABS kicked in just fine and I didn't get any tire slippage. I could continue rolling onto the brakes, which prevents the front tires from locking up, but this obviously takes more time to slow down. Has anyone experienced this or know what could be the cause?

Long shot. I'm not convinced your rotors and pads are working well together. If the car has been sitting than it is a good call to go someplace safe and do a few hard accelerations and had stops. Do three one after the other to get the brakes good and hot than drive ten mins. easy to cool them off and test to see if that improved the brake performance.
