I'm confused on the coolant in my 997.1. First, I’m getting the low coolant warning periodically, and it is below the min level. I took the car into dealer service for a few things, and they said no coolant leaks. I thought they were also going to top off the coolant, but it’s still below the min level.

Should I be concerned of a leak? I don’t see anything around the reservoir. Also, I think the color is pink, my wife says it’s orange. How do I know what kind of coolant to add?

Buy the coolant at your local Porsche dealer (or Audi or VW).

You probably just need a few ounces so just add distilled water. And if they pressure tested it and there are no leaks, get a new radiator cap and monitor it. As always check the color of the oil, just in case.

it's pink when you pour in but look orange when it comes out.

I have an 06 997 C2S with 118k. Mine does the same, the coolant in the expansion (reservior) tank is slight below the min level. But I can see that there is coolant in the expansion tank, just not at the min level. I tried topping if off, after driving, the level would be slight below the min level again. It stays at that level though. So I am guessing that it must be the level it needs to be because of whatever reasons. I never get the low coolant indicator light. This happens after I had the water pump replaced over a year ago.
