New 997.2 Project
Here's my new to me 2009 C2S PDK. I previously had a '01 C2. I enjoyed that car for the last 7 years, and passed it on to a fellow PCA member back in November. I am one of the few optimists in this group (there seem to be fewer here than on the 996 forum) and bought this car as a project with some issues that have to be resolved. It has 91,000 miles on it. I bought it with no service history. I will starting to do some of the major service items like changing all fluids including PDK. In addition there is an issue with the PCM or amp as there is no sound from the radio, there is a headlamp alignment fault and the side markers need to be checked (could need new bulbs or some more). It seems to run well mechanically.

If it got to 91k miles it won't have an issue going beyond that. Hopefully you get all the issues resolved. Glad to see another white 997.2 with black wheels!

So with the magic of the internet I was able to find pictures of my car prior to the repairs. Honestly it doesn't look as bad as I thought. It looks like the front went under the back end of a pickup truck. If anyone recognizes this car and knows any more history I would greatly appreciate any information so I can start sorting out some of the other minor issues.

Yes, I knew it was a salvage title and had it inspected prior to buying it. I just didn't know what it looked like prior to the repair. There are still a few issues with it that I intend to tackle in about a month.
I know there are a large percentage of people on this forum that would look at this and can't imagine why anyone would buy this car or any car with issues. Let's just say I bought it to use and having a salvage title doesn't affect my enjoyment. I also don't mind putting some effort into resolving issues when it saves me considerable costs- sweat equity. I think that is also part of my enjoyment in the ownership experience.

Congrats. Seems like the car is a good starting point for a project.

Well I finally got back to PA and got the car licensed on Friday. Changed the oil Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a Sharkwerks exhaust. Stepping up from a 01 996 C2 to this and I am impressed. This car really sings above 4500 rpm. I have been driving around all weekend with a smile.
Got to drive my father in law's 04 360 Spider on Sunday and wasn't so impressed after driving my C2S. With the 5 years difference in technology and the difference between Porsche and Ferrari, I would say the 997 is a more refined car. Got to love the sound of the high revving V8 though.
