Default squeaky rear window

My rear glass makes a squeak or creak when going over bumps, sounding almost like creaking leather (I'm pretty sure it's the glass from pressing on it which seems to stop the noise). Anyone experience this and have a solution worth trying short of re-installing the rear glass? Thanks, Doug

Maybe try treating the rubber with 303 or Gummi Pflege?

Thanks - worth a try and I've got both of those products in my arsenal. Back in my 993 days they used to put a waxy 'rope' in the front windshield seal which managed squeaks beautifully, but that's probably out of date?

you may also want to take a look at the carpeted panel directly under the rear window. You may want to remove and apply some felt strips along the edges where it contacts the window and other panels. when removing, you will most likely break some of the metal retaining clips, so it's a good idea to have some on hand. the part number is 999-507-687-05 and are less than $3.00 each

^^ interesting idea, which also has me wondering if most people drive around with their seats up or folded down like I do? Thanks, Doug

Yes I'd do this first. Removing and reinstalling the rear window is no easy task.
