Does Porsche dealers sell warranty for 997.1's when purchased at their Dealerships or do you have to find them on your own? Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks

Unlikely you'll get a Porsche warranty but many dealers sell aftermarket warranties such as Fidelity. Ask the dealer's finance manager.

In an older thread on this forum, one member suggested that he bought his warranty at a Honda dealer for significantly less than the same warranty at the Porsche dealer. Shop around!

My car is a 2005. Is that too old to get a Fidelity policy? I thought I read somewhere that there was a 10 year limit on age of car. Sorry OP to hijack thread.

You probably will have to pay for an inspection if you purchase warranty at different dealer than from whom you purchased. Inspection costs could range as much as $300 eating away that initially perceived savings. All dealers have comparable prices on the same warranties. Some finance managers, however, may be less willing to discount as holding their markup is how they make their $$$. That said, large corporate chains like Sonic dealers do tend to have the better prices on the same warranties offered by stand alone dealerships.

Some dealers will sell them at cost if you negotiate well, purchased car there and then one would also save on not having to pay for an inspection. I purchased a Fidelity at costs from a Sonic dealership and cheaper than what my wife could offer who is finance manager at a low volume Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Lotus and Maserati store. My wife's prices on her books with no markup were higher than for what Sonic could sell the warranty. I did have to pay for an inspection, but still saved $$$s.
