I recently bought a 2005 911 (I will do a full write up soon, with pictures) but I need some parts. In the past, I could usually find parts for my BMWs at reasonable prices, but finding parts for this car seems a little tricky - I guess because there is more variety. Any idea where I can get the seat release ****? Suncoast Porsche has them but it seems a bit pricey. If that's the case, I'll bite the bullet and get it, but I'm just wondering where everyone sources parts for these cars.
best option is to first call your dealer to get a baseline then just google different iterations of the part number... check ebay and even amazon.
compare and pull the trigger.
So far I've found the best pricing more time than not at autoatlanta or atlanta perimiter parts (divisions of Jim Ellis Porsche) but like nwGTS said, google the part# and go with the best price. The bad news is new parts for these cars is surprisingly expensive (especially if you've never dealt with German cars before), good news is pretty much everything is still obtainable and will be for quite some time.
First off, I do appreciate the all the help. While I am new to the Porsche world I'm not new to German cars - I've been driving and DIY'ing BMWs for about 18 years (typing that makes me feel old). Parts may not be cheap but there are sites like Bavarian Auto and Pelican Parts (which I forgot deals with Porsche too) that I can get parts and a fair price. Also, with a little patients and searching, I can typically find everything I need through people parting out (which isn't the case here). I haven't had the same luck with my 997 - I have tried the google route and everything is limited.
I'll call the dealership and I'll try some of the sites you guys' mentioned. Thanks again.
Revolution Parts is now managing a number of the online stores for dealers. My local dealer has https://www.sonnenporscheoemparts.com, which is typically 10-30% cheaper than Suncoast or Pelican and no shipping since I can just drop in to pickup the part. The funny thing is if I called the dealer or was there getting service, I would pay 10-30% more. I've literally sat in the parts department and submitted the online order in front of them to get the web store discount.
I would check to see if any dealers in your area are partnered with Revolution. I would also check the link above to compare pricing. For used parts also check out DC Auto.

DC Auto has it and it's priced right. I will check if my local dealer has https://www.sonnenporscheoemparts.com but based on DC auto prices, I may just get it (and a few other little things) from them.
