Yes, it is a Phillips car. The Blue 2009 C2S cabriolet for $45k. Is that an OK place to buy?
I'm also looking at a 2008 turbo cabriolet, but it has 69K miles and has been in an accident. So, I'm thinking the 2009 C2S is a better idea; less miles, lower maintenance costs, lower insurance and doesn't give up much in performance.
How does the PPI work, does the person you hire go to the dealership?

read up on yelp before you plunk down your cash at Phillips, they are a high end dealer, but seem to have very mixed reviews on the pre-sale side, especially the PPI
Plenty of cars in SOCAL

There is also Hergesheimer in Lake Forest if you don't mind driving a bit more south.

Tell the dealership that you want an 3rd party PPI done by a Porsche independent specialist. Make sure both dealership and you agree that the deal is contingent on a clean PPI or the deal is null. They'll take the car to the shop for the PPI and the shop will contact you with the results at your expense.

Well,I have made offers on a couple of cars and nobody is responding. I thought my offers were reasonable starting points. I'm not used to buying cars over the internet, so maybe I'm offending people, by being blunt?

Did you email or call? If you emailed I would try following up with a phone call. I’m surprised you’re not getting any call backs. As a previous poster mentioned, check the reviews on dealers. I purchased a car from Phillips. So far, I’m a satisfied customer. If you do buy from a dealer usually I’ve found that negotiating the final price before the PPI helps. If you do the PPI make sure to get the computer diagnostics (overrevs especially) along with the running time. PPI is minimum IMHO. You can also have the shop take a look for bore scoring and do a compression check ( I believe another poster may have suggested that). Good luck with the hunt.

I am hearing impaired, so email works best for communicating. I did get a response from Phillips, late last night and we are discussing the PPI. As soon as I can arrange it,I will contact somebody to do it for me.
The other car was a 2008 turbo, with tiptronic, 69K miles, has been in an accident and the dealer has had it for 7 months. I suspect I was too blunt in pointing out the shortcomings of this car and put them on the defensive, which is no way to make a deal. But, I think the 2009 C2S is probably a better idea (less miles, better engine, better transmission, lower maintenance and insurance costs) and doesn't give up a lot in performance.

I have had a good experience with Phillips. Ended up not buying my car there but I would not hesitate to buy from them in the future.
