Default 997.1 Turn3 Autosport Built 4.0 Dyno Numbers

So I had enough break in miles on my Turn3 Autosport built 4.0 engine and finally got her on the dyno yesterday. At the wheels, on a Mustang MD500, she made 355 whp and 301wtq, weather corrected to 340 whp and 288wtq. This was on a preliminary Softronic tune that needs some work, so I'm anticipating a better AFR line once the final tune is done and maybe a few more ponies. It does have Schrick cams, 4.0 JE forged pistons, ductile iron sleeves, as well as ported/polished heads, IPD intake/GT3 Throttle body, borla(?) headers and sharkwerks bypassed stock exhaust.

Needless to say, I'm quite happy with these numbers, and she seems to be breaking in nicely and making the power I expected.

I officially recommend Jeff Alton and Turn3 Autosport for their performance engine building and excellent and friendly service! They are in British Columbia so it is a little more of an ordeal, but well worth it if you ask me!

Also, big thanks to Jason Petek at Addict Motorsport Design (AMD) for the dyno time on my Carrera S, and expert advice and wrenching on the Porsche, not to mention all of the above on my current and former Audis. FWIW and as an aside, I would not have an Audi engine built anywhere but AMD.

Cheers!

Nice! Anyone know what a stock .1S makes on a Mustang? How fast can you safely rev it?

was this an original 3.6? or 3.8? numbers are good but you can probably make more with custom headers and exhaust...

also we love to see pics of set up..

It does have high flow 200 cell cats and headers, but not custom headers. I have fabspeed muffler bypass pipes but it’s way too loud so I put the sharkwerkes bypassed muffler back on.

I think I’ll be happy with a good tune with the current
mods, power wise.

As far as photos I can’t figure out how to upload videos from my phone but I got a few pulls on the dyno I’m trying to share. The engine looks pretty much stock except for the headers hanging down a little bit lower than stock.

Sounds like Turn3 is a viable engine rebuilder for Canadians, as opposed to dealing with border issues.

Indeed! Viable from Washington State as well. Trailered it up, drove it home.

Yup, and being able to pay in Canadian dollars helps too. (Especially for Americans lol)!

is that dyno in house at Turn3 or elsewhere?

Also, could you PM me (or post if you are comfortable) the cost of the rebuild? I’m curious in an academic fashion only, not being nosy.

Price was right and included engine install and a couple hundred miles of street break in. I also had Ohlin Road And Track suspension installed and set up by Turn3. Dyno was done at AMD
