Default 997 Gen 2 depreciation - will this be a classic?

My two cents...

a. 991 for sure. But as all know, a technically better drive doesn't necessarily translate to more fun.

b. Depending if you got it at a good used deal, it will depreciate but probably not too much from current values. Therefore, if space/money is not an issue, I'd say keep it for a while as it will be enjoyable to have both a 997.2 and 991 in the same garage.

Thanks. Unfortunately financially it is either/or. I love the 997 C4S cab but the 991 Targa 4S I have my eye on is awesome ! I am just a bit tired of losing lots of money on depreciation and have a feeling that the 997 Gen 2's will become collectible since they seem to be considered the last "real" 911s e.g. non electric steering, non-turbo etc.. Mind you we all know the 993 last of the air-cooled really fall into that category. Planning a trip to the Porsche dealer to have a test drive of the Targa 4S this week. Ultimately, how it drives will make the decision for me.

If it was me, I'd probably go 991.1 if I'd keep only one. It's just a more superior car overall. Anyway, you are getting it used so it helps with depreciation plus its one of the last NA regular 911's which may mean something for some people down the line.
