Buying used 911 from Porsche dealership
So I have never bought a used Porsche from a Porsche dealer. So where I would normally get a PPI and Revreport from an independent source, what should be done here? Still take it to a 3rd party? Dealer will do the rev report and they have all the service records as the the car was serviced there its entire life. So not sure how best to protect myself. its a 2010 so not a CPO.
Suggestions or must do's?

Why is it not Certified? I bought my 2010 this summer CPO. Porsche's can be CPO'd up to 8 model years back, as long as they have under 100,000 miles and of course if they qualify for CPO.

Usually not certified because wear items are not within tolerances. That is not necessstily bad as tires and brakes could be 50 or 60% and they just have to much $$& in it to replace and certify.

I bought a 8k mile 08 997 from Porsche Dealer. Came with 60 day warranty everything covered. They gave me a CPO check list and they actually did a few things in service. Age not miles. I also bought the Platinum Fidelity 7yr/72k mi ext warranty.
No PPI
I figured between the two warranties and low miles and clean car fax, local car one owner I;d gamble a bit.
Each car is diffreent so ...

A certified car will cost more. Perhaps they didn't certify it due to having to increase the price. Also, the car cannot have ANY aftermarket parts on it for it to be certified. If the car has had any panels painted, that could also prevent certification depending on the severity and number of panels affected.

FWIW, I purchased a cpo 09 911 S from Porsche exchange in Chicago that came with a cat back FVD exhaust. This was documented in a couple places within the cpo paperwork. I've also seen cpo cars for sale with non oem wheels and other cosmetic changes.

Mine was CPO , 2010, 51K miles just about two months ago from dealer. I guess the extra year is what makes a difference I am sure I paid for it as well. I paid about 51K . I did not do PPI because of the CPO. I think if mine were without CPO I would have had it evaluated elsewhere. Dealers are still dealers even if it says Porsche on the building. I would want another opinion.

An '09 with 47K, sold by the original dealer and with full service records sounds like a risk worth taking to me. Then buy a third-party warranty with similar coverage to CPO for about what CPO would have added to the purchase price. The dealer would probably sell you one but they usually mark them up a lot. In my experience better to go with an independent reseller.

PPI with bore scope 600.00 bucks or so. 4 hours going over car in detail.
PPI, oh your glove box light is out not so valuable. 100.00
I have seen both PPI check list. One a 10 year old could do. A comprehensive model and year specific P car PPI is expensive but I wouldnt buy a non CPO car without one.
If you do order a PPI make sure its a comprehensive one.
