One of the first things I learned when dealing with people is to never ask a question to which you don't want to hear the answer. I kid, but I can honestly say that the only time I would find driving gloves to be appropriate would be on a race track (and then only made of nomex) or if someone was driving a brass-era car or a British roadster. In the former case, the gloves would have to be accompanied by goggles, and in the latter, by a tweed, snap-brimmed hat.

Plus, I'm sure most of the guys who have chimed in as driving glove-wearers aren't gay.

...Most of them... :P

Why? Alcantara wheel has the best grip of all wheels, hence I love my Alcantara wheel. It does wear though, true, but the benefit is immense.

I use gloves on my leather wheel primarily on long drives, track days and autoX. My wife gave them to me. Down here in deep South Texas they also keep my hands from sweating on the wheel. I will add that the Porsche gloves work on touch screen electronics without cutting off any finger tips and "at speed" they give me the best "feel" and control.
