Dream Getting Closer 997.2
Just finished a walk around on a 2009 997.2 C2S with 21,000 miles. PPI scheduled for Monday and test drive this Saturday. Vehicle has 6 speed, SCP +, heated & vented seats, Bluetooth, Pwr Comfort Seats, 19" Sport Design wheels. All in Arctic Silver with black std leather int. and is spotless. Seller is my neighbor so seen this car for 8 years and have seriously lusted for it from day one. Any advice from you seasoned owners? I've researched the **** out of this vehicle so hoping PPI comes back with no issues. Soon will be able to get over my wife being the only Porsche owner in the family with her '17 Macan S. Wish me luck!

Three Wheelin'
Exciting! Perfect find getting it from your neighbor. How much is he asking?
I know more about the .1 so cant be of too much help. I do have the 19" sport design wheels on my silver .1. Its a classic look but those wheels are a bitch to clean.
The .2 isn't known to have many problems but a couple things to consider:
1. I recommend to everyone is to have them remove the oil filter during the PPI and check it for any debris. It will cost an additional $50-75 but worth it knowing whats going on in the engine.
2. I dont think a borescope is necessary for a .2. It is for a .1.
3. Check tires for age. With that low of miles you may have tires with plenty of tread but are so old they begin to dry rot. My mechanic pointed that out during my PPI.
4. Check maintenance history: plugs, brake flush, filters, are the major items.
5. I assume the carfax checks out
Good luck on the PPI! Git'er done!

Solid PPI should tell you what you need to know.
Ask for service histories from neighbor if he/she has them, there were a few Porsche campaigns for the early 997.2 cars.
Enjoy the car in good health!

Many thanks
Appreciate the information and encouragement. As giddy as a 5 year old on Xmas morning. Except this time I won't be left wanting when I didn't get my pony. Service records have been requested and went over what is included in PPI with my local guy. Fingers crossed and just a few more days to go. Thanks again all. BTW, those that provided pics your cars are beautiful!

the PPI is well worth the coin, They should certainly be checking on the engine/drive train, brakes, tires, and suspension. Good on you.
If it has PSE, make sure they work. That might be something missed by PPI.
You should hear the flaps open when you press the button, and there should be an audible difference in reving (even at a stand still in neutral).
Make sure all the basic electronics work. Windows open up/down smooth and properly. If sunroof, make sure it opens and closes.
AC/radio/... check all of it.
Also, check the windshield has no cracks <-- not cheap
Good Luck!

Hey, I brought my 2009 2+ years ago, great car, you'll love it. It really is a wonderful machine with loads of analog feedback to the driver. The .2 have a good reliability rap thus far and all I do is change the oil before I put her to bed in the winter and then enjoy come the spring!!
Good luck and I hope the PPI checks out - remember DME 'overrev' report is misnamed, on the .2 car's stage 1 and stage 2 are under the redline and so nothing to worry about!!
