Exclamation 997.2 S Exhaust Tips on Base 997.2

Okay this is my first time posting on this board. I just want to say I'm happy I finally got my 997.2 (new to me) dream car.

Now comes the question. I currently have a 997.2 base model.I picked these up via ebay. Except I was looking at how the stock ones are attached and will these fit? Do I just need an FVD adapter in order to mount these using the stock mounting bolt? Thanks!

Yes they will fit, no adapter needed. 997.2 base and 997.2 S share the same exhaust, except for the tip of course.

This is correct. I have the S tips on my base 997.2. No adapters needed.

Hey guys. Thank you all for the prompt replies. I will mount these later on this week. I'll post some photos and a mini review as to how well these hold up. I'm excited to be apart of this forum but most importantly to be a 911 owner finally!

Not sure if this helps, but I have 997.1S exhaust tips on my 997.2 C2 and they fit fine

I finally got around to getting these tips installed. Overall I am pleased with the price I paid getting these on ebay and the looks of it.

I wish they were. They appear to be cast iron with stainless steel riveted onto them. I'm not sure how they were able to get the titanium look to them. I recall seeing a thread back when I had an S2000 where an individual heated stainless steel with a torch to get the titanium burnt look.

As far as fitment it was spot on. The hardest part of removing the old tips as the bolt holding them in place snapped off due to being rusted over.

Cheers! I didn't know there were so many of us former S2000 owners on this forum. I hadn't driven a car that drove as good as my S2K until I picked up my 997.2. Now I have my dream car that drives way better than my S2K! The best part is I no longer have people asking me if my car is Miata

Yes those are the exact same tips I purchased. They have been holding up well. I clean them ever so often with some WD-40 and a rag.

For some reason my reply to your post never posted. I'm sorry for the late reply but yes that is the exact same set I purchased. I'm glad there are a lot of former S2K owners here!!! Cheers!
