Thanks, all, for the welcome, and for the advice. Based on my drive this morning, dark wheels are a big plus against the brake dust problem. I'm now convinced. Based on what y'all are saying, sounds like exhaust is the priority mod. Gundo hack sounds great, only hesitation is, there's no turning it back to stock. Also sounds like a few new owners are coming on board... community continues to grow!

Congrats on the new ride. Gundo hack makes little difference in your neighborhood when the revs are down (most of the exhaust travels through the muffler rather than making the sharp right angle bends). But it's great when you get enthusiastic!!!

Hi neighbor. I have a similar car. 2012 Turbo wheels. Platinum silver C2S. Love to meet up sometime and wrench on these cars although I must admit I have very little mechanical aptitude.

Totally forgot. Install a short-shift kit ASAP.

I hear that's a must-do... but I went PDK with this one (so that my wife could enjoy the car, too)

Anytime! Campbell, CA, is where I'm at, down to do some garage days.

Do a gundo.....quick n easy , I have a template for it. Then a X pipe bypass Shark,BBE, or Fabspeed, all will give you more sound. If its too much you can always put the center muffler back on......bet you wont.
I'll be pinging you for that template!

No springs installed... I was lucky that the car came with the Sport Chrono Package, so it has a bit of a lower ride height.

B8 S4s are great sleepers, aren't they?! I have a stage 2 tune + pulley... my buddy and I were doing pulls on the freeway, and it does a decent job of keeping up with the C2S!

Congrats on your new car! I'm currently in the market for my 1st 911, been searching for 4 months now and still haven't found a decent one yet. I'm not a fan of black rims, they look ok on lighter color cars like yours but totally hideous on black cars! I want my 911 to have polish deep dish rims on the rear. Through my research I've learned this particular model doesn't make much noise, I would definitely upgrade the exhaust first.

Here's how it works: https://bringatrailer.com/about-bat-auctions/
At the least, it's a resource for benchmarking prices: https://bringatrailer.com/porsche/997/
That 997.1 C2S sold for $39K: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...1-carrera-s-7/
I've bid on a couple of cars, both had reserves that weren't met. Warning: it gets addictive

Thanks for the info, so there is a 5% fee of the total price of the winning car. If I win a bid of a $40,000 car, I have to pay an additional $2000 to BAT. That's a bit much IMO. I see the only advantage of this auction bid is if you win the auction for a car you feel that is under 5% of its cost. I think on ebay only the seller pays a fee, not the buyer if I'm not mistaken.
