Key flashing

Wife washed my key. Took it apart and took out battery which was rusting. New battery placed in and now red light in blinking slowly. Any thoughts or pointers for a search?

I guess your wife left the key in your pants

Maybe some compressed air to blow it out or place the key in some rice for awhile as a desiccant. Try reversing the polarity of the battery too.
