997.2 Sunroof Delete. Has anyone done it? I would like to chat~

Yeah, I did read it. It's talking about replacing the entire roof. Of courses the windows etc would have to come out. I'm talking just removing the sunroof mechanism and then welding the panel to the roof and repainting it. A top-end body shop should be able to do that so nobody could tell it from a roof replacement. By the same token, a shoddy body shop would make a hack job out of the OEM as well.
This is very difficult to get right. Anyone who has built a race car and deleted a sunroof before will tell you that to get it not to look like a hack job you tend to have to replace the entire roof. If you securely weld in a panel you are more than likely to get waving and very uneven surface. It wont come out right.
This is a pretty expensive job that will likely have extremely minimal impact on a persons non professional, non competitive lap times only to lower the resale value (if the new owner finds out this was once a sunroofed car I would stay away from it for a mile since I'd know what can potentially go wrong with a project like this, ie - rust).
