Track Tire Recommendations?

Track Tire Recommendations?
I have a 997.1 and addicted to the track . I have been running with the PSS's since I have had the car - probably about 10 track sessions. What tire do you recommend for more traction? Not looking for a compound tire as not sure I am ready. I only drive the car to the track and back - 120 miles round trip. Looking to track 10 or more times a year. I have read about the Pilot Cup 2's and the AD08R's. I have 19 inch rims and running 295/30/19 and 235/35/19. Any other tire recommendations or opinions about the Cup 2's and AD08R's? Also, are those the right tire sizes if I stick with 19 inch rims? FYI- I have stiffer shocks, H & R springs and a sway bar in the back.
Thanks-
Tony

I'm a big fan of the AD08R's. Cheaper than PSC2's, longer lasting, Better on the street.
I have friends with the PSC2's and they are leary of driving in the rain. The AD08R's are no Super sport in the wet, but they're very usable. The nice thing about them is that the sidewall is stiff, so you can air down enough to have them last through a session before the pressure can build too high and cause that greasy feeling that you're probably feeling in the Super Sports. They have lots pf grip and when they do break loos they're very composed.
Can't speak for the RE71r's but I'm sure they're good too.
Pho King Fast just did a comparison between the two.
He drives like a maniac, but is fast and his analysis seems sound.

AD08R and RE-11 used to be the tires to get... the new RE71R might be RE-11 replacement, and reviews have been quite amazing apart from wear... so maybe give it a go, and price of it is also pretty good! Can't go wrong with any of these three.

With that many track days, you'll be buying new tires every year. Or even 2x per year.
In 19in size I would determine what tread wear rating you want.
The Sport Cup 2's are 180 vs something like the Trofeo R at 60. The new Corsa's are also a 60 tire.
180 Tires:
The Yoko's are an older (tech wise) tire but more economical. The Sport Cup 2's are supposedly "better". However they cost more. At my local PCA events, I see more folks with the SC2.
200+
Review's have the RE71-R falling off on grip after a a session or two (25-30min sessions). Folks have said it's a better autocross tire. It's also a 200+ tire.
60 Tires:
Two guys I drive with have Trofeo R, they like the tires over the SC2. They are also quicker with the tires over SC2. However, you will be replacing these more often and they cost the most.
So it depends on how much and at what cost you want to win at DE. LOL
Also, you might heat cycle the tires out before they are "worn out". Which in my opinion you don't have the "junk them" but they won't be performing at optimal grip.

Im an Re71 fan over the sport cup 2. I'm convinced the sc2 was designed in conjunction with the rear wheel steering on the newer 911gt3 and just could not get it to be consistent with the 997. Was very sensitive to tire pressures.

Ad08 for street, auto cross and occasionally a track day. For better track tires use Nitto NT01 which are way better than Michelin Sport Cups and Toyo R888. Also, look, into the newer Michelin Sport Cup 2... lots of great reviews f guys in 991 gt3 cars as a great street tire and track tire

Like others have said. It might be better and cheaper in the long run to swap to 18's and run NT01's. They seem to last a long time on the track and I've heard they grip until you hit the chords. They are drivable to the track as long as it's not wet out. Keep the 19's with better street tires.

I daily drive my car and do 6 track weekends a year. I'm on the pilot sport cup 2. I'm just as fast on those as I am on Nittos. You have to lower the pressure down to 30psi hot. They are predictable and grip for days.
I find them to be fine in the rain, but my car is a 4S, so awd may be helping. I love not having to have a tire trailer anymore. Drive to the track, air down and run, air up and drive home.
I'm getting about a year out of a set. They are ~$1750. Cost wise I think that's about the same as a set of NT01($1000) and a set of street tires ($1000) every 18-24 months...
