Afterrun coolant pump

Afterrun coolant pump
Just thinking out loud. With all the fear mongering about these engines and the cooling issues why has no one offered an afterrun coolant pump kit? Not that I believe it will actually change the cooling rate and help scoring etc but more it could be very lucrative.

Just my 2 cents.. it hasn't been done because it is just that.... Fear based on a small percentage of failure.
My opinion, on a modern NA stock motor it's just not needed. If your really pushing the limits with aftermarket forced induction and your water temps are high, there is benifit. These are primary used on turbo cars that have coolant cooled turbos.

The engine isn't turning so where is the deterioration occurring?
The issue folks are concerned about is thermal stability as cold, turning engine parts or differ in temperature, come up to operating temps.
Even the voices in my head didn't bring up this boogie man.

Actually, what the OP is suggesting isn't too far out. Most contemporary BMWs, due to their water pump design, have the ability to continue to circulate coolant if necessary after engine shut down. I believe that is for non turbo and turbo engines alike.
