Default Porsche Sunshade not fitting correctly

I bought an OEM Porsche sunshade for my 996TT and it doesn't really fit well. It's as if it is too short, the sunvisors barely hold it in, and it doesn't cover the whole dash. Is this normal, or did they send me the wrong one?

I'll post a picture when I get home.

That's how mine is. It's never fallen down.

Mine is the same way. I keep a towel in the car to fold up and stuff between the sun shade and the dash to make the shade sit in the best position. Somewhat annoying though.

Yep, mine too. Still a good buy, IMHO.

Mine too, I just let it lay on the dash.

It is a bit puzzling why they didn't make them about 3 inches taller. Just to verify/visualize what we're talking about:

I'm using the covercraft sun shade from my old 928, and while the sides are about 1/2" from the pillars, it fits perfectly top-bottom (so well I don't even need to flip out the sunvisors). I would consider that a much better fit than the above pictures.

I use a non OEM Covercraft (Uvs100), hard foldable one with sleeve case and it fits great

This fits well and rolls up with a velcro strap:

Are you sure you guys have the 996 shade instead of the 997 shade? Mine seems to fit perfect....

I think that little gap at the top of the driver's side is what folks aren't happy about.

Note the placement on the dash of your left vs. right side, and vs. kcattorney's pics. In his, the shade is pushed all the way forward. On yours, the passenger side isn't pushed as far forward, and that side fits better up top.

I just try to make sure mine isn't pushed too far forward.

I don't push mine that far forward either. I keep it back a bit. Same fit though.

Look at one of the above pics the top of the shade doesnt even come in contact with the sun visors! Not just a small gap!

Mine wont really push anymore forward than that. drivers side gap is because i forgot to flip the sunvisors down to hold it in place, mine stays like that without having to use the visors to brace it. Probably the same piece just installed differently now that you mention pushing far forward. It seems awkward to force it any more forward than that to me. Oh well, it works either way
