Anyone Near NYC? Help Needed...
Looking at a turbo in NY - somewhere between NYC and Staten Island it seems. The owner doesn't want to take the time to take the car in for a PPI, but would allow someone else to do it for me.
..the problem is I live in Denver.
Anyone have the time to do this? I was hoping to have the car taken to Manhattan Motorcars. Unless someone knows of a better shop for a thorough PPI?
Thanks in advance.

Translation: "I have nothing to gain by helping this Denver guy do a PPi so I'll say that I don't have time but would allow a PPI in the car and I'll hope he interprets that positively and can't find anyone to do it"
Tell him that you have some random guy who is willing to pick up the keys and car from him and drive it to the dealer and see what he says!

I've never had a seller tell me they wouldn't take it somewhere close by that I've picked for a PPI. That is a huge red flag! They don't want my business that's fine, I'll go somewhere else.

The guy is a bit of a dealer and doesn't seem to want to drive 20 miles to pickup the car from his warehouse, 20 miles to the dealership, wait around for a couple hours, and then drive 20 miles back and 20 miles home.... He's definitely willing to let someone else pick it up though. He's already told me that.

I'd buy a same day roundtrip ticket and fly out to do it myself. Cheap insurance..

I recommend formula Motorsports in long island City for the PPI. I had my cayenne taken there from Jersey for the PPI and happy I did. My friend ended up servicing his cayenne there after his CPO dropped off....(mine was already in the Midwest after the PPI). Also, it will be easier to not bring the car all the way into the city.

He's a funny guy. He let me drive two 993s he had. He seems to get some very interesting cars but he doesn't really (in my opinion) know how to sell them. One of the cars I drove he sold to another dealer.
He also never followed up after our drives to see if I was still interested.
He's a perfectly nice guy, just a little rough around the edges.
I was not impressed with the cars I drove, but I don't know whether that's me, him, or them.

When I first saw this somehow I thought it was an older Turbo, but now I think I know which one it is, and it's actually a car I considered for myself. Don't recall exact specs but probably 997 with low miles. The reason I didn't pursue it, among others, is the guy. It doesn't mean his cars are bad or faulty...I just scratched my head about them. Probably makes sense to get a PPI and let a third party evaluate. Very strange he'd just let some stranger drive off with one of his cars. (Funny, on one of the test rides I went with him, he asked if I mined if we stopped to get a pizza, so he buys a pizza--a whole pizza--and fits it in the car while I'm on a test drive. That's what I mean, among other things, about rough around the edges.)
