Default Adding some upgrades to my '04 Turbo!

Thanks to a lot of reading on Rennlist, and a track event that I felt I could have performed a LOT better in, I decided to put together some upgrades for this 2004 Turbo that I LOVE.

This is what the car has so far:

GIAC Tune
NHP Headers and Exhaust
Lowering Springs (on stock shocks)
SACHES 750hp+ rated clutch
Short Shifter
19" Champion Motorsport RS98 Monolite Forged Wheels

These new parts are being added:
(2) Champion Motorsport Forge Racing Diverter Valves (Yellow springs)
Eibach Sway Bars + Bushings
Bilstein B8 SPORT Shocks/ Struts (Yellow)
Full Suspension POWERFLEX bushings
Torque Solutions Transmission Mount, Engine Mount and Subframe Bushings
Agency Power Dual Flow Carbon Fiber Intake
IPD 68mm Intake Plenum
(2) Larger Capacity Intercoolers
All Intake Piping (w/ "F" Pipe) AND Cooling System Piping
Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
AASCO 13# Light Weight Flywheel

While I do this I am switching out the standard brake fluid with a type that has a higher boiling point so it can handle racing.

I have it at the shop now but will report back once everything is installed!!

nice upgradess, remove the front diff and add a guards LSD it is by far the best mod if you want to perform at the track for these cars.

No problem - I would trade an LSD for 100 hp - weight savings will also help stopping these pigs out there.

I was having a lot of trouble keeping up with E92 M3s around the corners. In the straight aways the car was untouchable.

What kind of differential is on the front?

The front diff is worthless - it is thrown into the turbos so the general public doesn't kill themselves. The AWD is awful and in turn is a negative for the track, excessive understeer and lack of ability to put instant power down out of corners.

Get rid of it and get the LSD and remove the PSM when you learn the car and you will be surprised the cars this thing will catch in corners let alone straights.

So, the rear diff is fine, I just need to replace the front, which is an open diff?

I'm on Guard's website and they have 3 models

no you remove the front drive shaft and diff entirly and throw it away or sell it... the rear is an open diff it will need to be replaced with the guards lsd. email matt there are 2 versions based on how much horsepower you end up having really is the difference

Technically that would convert the car to a GT2?

returen the a/p dual intake its junk. no need for the ipd plenum either in the current engine setup. take that money and buy some track wheels in 18" and track tires. that will help more than most of the mods your adding. 18" for go 19" for show!

I still have the stock turbo wheels. I read some good reviews on the Yokohama AD08 tires. I think that might be the route I am going to go.

Everyone bashes the AWD but it does work. It's a mechanically system that isn't that bad. I would like to convert my car to RWD but I won't say the AWD doesn't work.

on the street I agree - on the track it is a hinderence for a proficient driver...a rookie may like it however since it masks a lot of errors.
