Default What Upgrade is Next?

Hi All, I have a 2004 Turbo (manual). This is what I have done so far. What would get more power out of this car? I seldom drive it but when I do I go hard. Maybe link me to a website or kit

Exhaust
Drop in K&N Filter
Engine software tune.

I do not have an X50 Turbo.

Sorry forgot to mention, I have a short shifter, lowering springs on stock shocks (previous owner cheaped out). and the engine trans mounts are a good idea. Sometimes I'll miss shift under heavy load.

What suspension would you recommend? Sway Bars? Shocks/Springs or Coilovers?

what suspension you get depends on how you use your car/intend to use the car and of course, your budget. If you use it on the streets, the H&R Street coilovers are great because they will improve your suspension but still give you some level of comfort. If you intend to track the vehicle, a more race oriented coilover system would be better.

Where are you located in Socal?

LA.

I drive the car maybe once/month on smooth roads. Where is the best place to get a coilover suspension? Sway bars?

Most power gains will come from Turbo Inlet Pipes, IPD Plenum, Diverter Valve, Race gas or E85 & Retune.. After that you really need to swap turbos..

What exhaust did the previous owner install? Chances are it's probably some "boutique" example that nets minimal gains.
There may be a lot more power and reliability to be gained with the proper exhaust.

most would probably recommend the next add on's to be headers/ a cat delete setup ( for off road of course! ha ) larger ic's bigger injectors, ( if aren't already using the 5bar fpr..) a larger tb and ipd plenum, and possibly even a mafless tune. how much you'd gain now from altering your intake would be questionable. anything else, and you'd probably want to upgrade the turbos and definitely consider a new tune ( whether mafless or not..) that can be tweaked for the bolt on's etc..

but if you only did a cpl cheap things for the suspension until you need to upgrade all four corners, then it should be new semi motor mounts/997 t-mount, and at the very least a gt3 sway in the rear. your car will see immediately more stability less body roll, and lateral "slop" etc, and be generally more responsive for having done so, and all *relatively* inexpensively. but ( at some point..) the stock shocks probably gotta go too, and if you want to stay with fresh lowering springs and maintain a pretty decent ride and stance, then you can go from the OEM's to MO 30's or ( bilstein b8's ) and retain an "OEM" setup that will rival if not surpass the handling characteristics of the factory X73 option for a bit less than a coilover setup. for primary street use? you'd never find this option lacking.

all that said, you're in la.. take up sam on his offer upthread.. you'll get his expertise @n/c as well as the lowest prices on everyday ( every day for us lol ) stuff. bottom line is, there's still a cpl things you can bolt on for more power, safely.

How's that clutch holding up? If you're driving it hard with tune/exhaust I don't think it'll last.

I'd do intercoolers and budget for a clutch if yours is still stock. I noticed a decent gain going from stock ICs to GT2RS ICs.

Does a plenum genuinely add much power on these? My research has come back with mixed results.

Do you have a link to a site that sells this stuff with more information?

Thanks for mentioning that. I have a high performance clutch kit installed. It's solid.
