Default Fire out of the exhaust?

Quick question... yesterday the weather was gorgeous out and I decided to try out my "high boost" tune that I have on my Cobb accessport. The exhaust setup is fabspeed max flow mufflers with no cats. My brother was driving behind me and said that occasionally there was fire coming out only the driver side exhaust tip. Not big flames just small bursts. At first I was like "****ing cool! I'm so fast and furious!' Then reality set in thinking I should stop having fun and make sure the car is ok. Is that normal for just one side to have fire coming out. I know fire means I need better tuning, but just in general, could it be turbo related? Any insight or knowledge is appreciated.

With a tune and no cats I would expect bigger flames.

Update: just started it this morning after letting it sit all night and puff of smoke came out of driver side exhaust tip. I let the car cool down after every drive. Thoughts?

Possible bad oil seal in the driver side turbo.

Perfectly normal for a catless short exhaust to shoot flames on a turbo car. Also common for boxer motors to smoke on startup.

Honestly the cause could be several things. None of them are particular very bad. A bad turbo oil seal would probably be the worst.

Driving the car will most likely not hurt anything. So keep driving it and see if the issue persists. It might be nothing.

Flames on deceleration/engine braking/braking from high rpm or shifts through the gears at high rpm are pretty normal.

I usually get a few good flames per session on track especially braking hard and downshifting.

My main concern was mainly the fire coming out of just one side. I'll keep this thread updated as I go along. Thanks for al the help guys. I still have a small case of 996itis from my c4s that every little thing with the car makes me nervous. I'm learning to cope...
