Default Cats or catless...? Help

Need some educated opinions about exhaust on the turbo. I am currently running a FVD BROMBACHER CATLESS EXHAUST and am interested in going with the Fabtech muffler delete cat system instead. I'm over the o2 sensor throwing the check engine light due to the catless system I've got, but love how much better the car pulls. My question is; will the car still perform as well as it does with the fabtech 100 cell cats and no muffler? Any educated info is much appreciated since the FVD system was over 3k and the Fabtech replacement is over 2k, so it's kinda an expensive experiment just to lose performance etc???
Thanks in advance. Also a Cobb access port tuner will be in the mix. 😊😊😊

Even a little help if anyone knows where I could look for the information? With so many exhaust options I know someone on here has had to have used the fabtefabtech muffler delete set up...

Go to Google and include site:rennlist.com in your search. There have been a million exhaust threads (e.g., https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turb...ts-better.html).

Of course it will lose a little HP as you're installing restrictions in the exhaust (cats). 100 cell cats are very good and it will probably only be a neglible loss so I wouldn't worry. It will still be very fast.

FYI you can also shut off the CEL for the rear o2 sensors so the light doesn't illuminate on the dash.

I will do the Google search that manimal just taught me to learn how to shut off the CEO. It gets a bit old.
And thanks s65e90

You're welcome. It's a helpful trick, and often more useful than a forum's built-in search feature.

The Cobb Access Port + pro tune will easily resolve a catless CEL. Talk to Sam @ By Design.

I have 200 cell cats and test pipes for my fabspeed maxflo mufflers. The 200 cell is very tame and refined with a gurgle here or there and all in all a great exhaust for most situations. The test pipe however is my favorite, installed it makes it a little more raw and obviously louder. Easy answer for you is to buy a modular system and hunt for test pipes to go with the system.

Sure catless will flow more than a 100cell catalytic converter, but sometimes that isn't necessary a bad thing. A little backpressure there may give you a bit more power in certain areas and smoothen out the powercurve a bit. That being said, there is only so much gain you can get from an exhaust on these cars so you likely won't feel the difference unless you have one hell of a sophisticated butt dyno haha. That being said, I see you mentioned having a Cobb Accessport as well. I assure you that with one of our protunes you will have so much more power and a stronger curve that you'll forget you even had thoughts about this.
