I briefly considered the full GT2 conversion (get rid of accumulator, etc) but my old feet can't handle any extra load pressure...yes, I know I'm a wimp lol

exactly.

dr cheap you might familiarize yourself with the difference btw the stock 996 turbo "sprung" disc VS the gt2 UNsprung disc that will accept a bit more abuse. its a very good setup and works on my mid level ( bolt on ) modded car. also, you won't know the condition of your DMFW until you open it up and see how much material it has remaining. you might well need a new one.

the gt2 disc is the only add on I've used. it works just fine w "added" power.

Don't forget the rubber in the dual mass wears out too.

Flywheel is hit or miss. Most say you won't need it. I've had a clutch sitting around waiting to go in for a bit now. Will have an Indy do it and if the flywheel does need to be replaced. Dealers are local and can get same day.

I got quoted $3200 for a new Sachs 2.5 clutch, including Aasco flywheel, Sachs pressure plate, Sachs disk, throwout bearing, and all bolts.

$3200 is way high. Skip the Aasco and stay with an OEM LWFW. What pressure plate and what disc are in the kit that you were quoted??? That's what you need to know.

I can do that whole package minus the Aasco flywheel but the RS LWFW instead like powdrhound mentioned for $2000.00.

Should have mentioned that the $3200 is including labor to install it...

Also - the engine will be putting out about 550-600HP...
