So next ? is higher mileage/lower $ or lower mileage/more $. Seems $10k difference $35k-$45k huge difference in car. So confused.

The question then seems to be if you're heading to the late $40k/50k mark, is it best to start looking at higher mileage 997 Turbos?

A low mileage 996TT or a higher mileage 997T for 3-5k more?

I think that is a fair statement.

you need to research this forums and google these questions. This subject is discussed in detail in abundance. The 30-35k cars have one, some or all the things listed below:
high mileage
salvage title
road hard track car
problem child engine
multiple owners
exterior/interior damage
undocumented history

These are funny cars when it comes to pricing, but trust me "save it now spend it later" sums up these cars pretty well. The diff between a 35k car and a 45k will quickly become apparent when you know what you are looking for. This forum and the advice from the members here will quickly get you up to speed.

Had to stop before I get pulled over for reckless driving!

You really have to mat it through 4th and 5th before you know what these cars are about. A cold dry evening helps.

Do you have a jammer and if so which one?

Even better "bargain" is to take a 540/6 and put the M5 diff and bigger bars in with all fresh suspension. For ~$10k you can have a very reliable DD that you don't care about.

My favorite quote or yours recently Dock and the main reason I like cars that don't give up when you stretch them. Stock they are good but with Kevins turbos and ICs the car is absolute beast mode where 70-holy **** happens quick (at the track).

Self induced dangerous scenarios are common on track but goofs on the road make me more nervous. A while back some tard almost rear ended a car next to me on the highway because he wanted to pass a group of traffic at triple digits. Apparently velocity differential/mass equations go out the window with new boxster drivers, or maybe their ponytail holder was too tight?

When you visit your buddies junk yard and see a shoe wedged in a bent brake pedal physics is clear.

Will have to wait until all this snow and ice melts, and have to find a nice stretch of road where cops don't camp out. Suggesting to go through 4th and 5th would imply 180mph and a widow maker in the making?
