40k Miles and this much interior wear?!

Alcantara doesn't hold up well, especially to sweaty hands. The seats look like it was a big boy that owned it. Easy to replace the panels and steering wheel though.

Yep, he was like 73-74. A lifelong runner, and more importantly he loved his Porsche Turbo for 7 years and wasn't thrilled about giving it up.
If he lived closer (he's in San Diego) I would have taken him for a spin in his car version 2.0. I think he might enjoy the extra power and sound!
And of course thank him for taking such good car of the interior.

Actually, to some of them, they're not abusing the car (in their mind). I have a family member who is a lifelong Vette guy, he's on his 4th, a 2016 C7 Convertible. And while he doesn't drive it hard or abuse it (maintenance is always current), he's pretty hard on the cosmetics. We have different personalities, and he doesn't have my attention to detail gene. Doesn't mean he doesn't like/love his car, but he's not hands on with detailing and doesn't think twice about ingress/egress. He just drives it like a regular car. And when he's ready, he sells it and buys another new one. The buyer gets a well maintained and gently driven car, but it looks a little rough -nothing that can't be addressed. Not the way I roll, but he's not too worried about the next owner if you know what I mean.

I think that would also cause wear on the inside of the right seat back bolster, which I don't see.
Maybe a CCW on his left side (especially if OC) at the 8-9 position could cause the wear, but I'm thinking only if he got in the car starting from a butt-to-car position and plopping down from there.
