I know a couple of guys who had the their seat centers replace with alcantara. They out came really well and alcantara holds you bottom in the seat while cornering better than the leather.

It's just such a bummer as they were in really good shape, it's just crazy out of nowhere.

I feel for you. I really do.

If you can get in touch with one of those guys who does interior repairs for car dealerships he might be able to fix it.

I have natural gray seats too. This is a premium leather upgrade and will be hard to find a replacement seat I'd guess. Sucks. I feel you pain

If you have to replace the center section anyway, you could try dyeing them. I'm sure you could improve the color but I'm concerned about the texture difference. It appears in the photo that it's down to the fabric portion of the leather with no coating on it. Dye might just soak in leaving the texture difference showing. If you want to try it, it would be an inexpensive attempt. I'd soak that section first with a product like Leatherique's Rejuvenator oil and try to get some moisture back into the leather, then dye. For a perfect match, you might have to do both seats in their entirety unfortunately, but you could start with the center section just to see. I'm sure it would look better but not perfect.

If you're interested in trying that, here's a procedure I wrote several years back. I've done seats in three different cars now.

FYI - Alcantara doesn't wear well... unless it's actual treated and thick enough hide, it will shows signs of wear very easily and will be a nightmare to maintain..

^ thats true. my center console wrapped in alcantara is unsightly track ratted mess, but i imagine it depends upon the level of "care" you put into "maintaining" it, which i never have.

but i would also look into seat centers in alcantara. it's a great look too. sure works in gt2rs!

True, it's mostly just polyester and polyethylene. Its on my race car steering wheel and nobody touches it without gloves on

I think if I did a custom job it would be Singer like. Maybe some woven leather for the inserts would be cool.

soap and water on a stiff toothbrush. Once dry use another brush to re-fluff and stand up the fibers. Very easy to maintain, just not many do it as it gets dirty quick.

I think we clearly have different ideals of what 'easy' is...

That sounds extremely tedious, easy would mean vinyl.

agree..easy was getting it dirty. cleaning with a toothbrush sounds like disciplinary action lol

but messing with the configurator for 991.2 i want and the alcantara inserts is a great look i could live with
