That is very odd. The "cooked" part is hard to figure out. Is there any damage on the UNDERSIDE of the seat? Did the bun-warmers cook it?

Only other thought is something hot was set on it or chemical was spilt on it.

Not if he wants to retain as much as possible of the original seat.

They are both OEM. There is no difference. And seat built by Porsche, in their factory, during the same production run, is a more suitable replacement than patch leather.
