Default Airbag Light - Fault Code 31

anyone have an experience dealing with fault code 31 ignition circuit, side airbag passenger? It came on out of nowhere just today. Is this the airbag located on the door or in the dash? Any troubleshooting ideas or fixes?

I have a durametric but haven't cleared it yet. Looking for more info first.

seem to recall, an issue with the seat belt connector causing an incomplete circuit resulting in an airbag light.

common ( old ) issue and it could very well could be your issue. it requires cleaning or replacement of the seat belt receptacle and your durametric will confirm which side etc.. lots of threads on this. check this out: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...ing-light.html

Seatbelt connector for sure. My car is on #4. They were a problem, Porsche revised it several times. Pull the drivers seat, swap to a new seat belt latch, should fix the problem. I have #5 in the door pocket of my car to do the swap when I get some time.

unlessyou have a durametric pro you will have to have the dealership reset the light.
