Default Tires?

Any ideas as to the best set of tires for the standard size 18" rims? Mostly for street, ocassionally for track.

Depends on how much tracking but based upon where you live (you don't see much rain), you can't go wrong with Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. If those are too hairy for ya' then you can do regular Pilot Sports in 315/30 235/40 sizes.... I don't much like the Pirellis or Contis.

Great question. I asked the same on another board.

Will those tire sizes work well with stock wheels?

Any rubbing issues or PSM issues? Can I use 5 mm spacer with this tire set up.

For 295/30 PSC's you don't need any spacers as rubbing isn't an issue. If you got to 315/30 and 245/40s then for the fronts I would get 5mm spacers, yes.

No PSM issues either

Sharkster,

So I assume the tire rub occurs on the inside, not the outside fender.

Can I get the 5 mm spacer on the rear wheels as well without worrying about rubbing the fender lip?

I am serious considering this tire setup as well as the spacers on all four corners.

Sound reasonable?
