IMO Porsche got the aerodynamics, visual proportions relative to the rest of the car, and aesthetics (read curves) right on the money with the stock wing...

Are you saying that an absence of fear is required to have the gold wheels on his 996 Turbo?

I prefer the stock wing... although I have a Misha GT2 rep. The GT2 type looks great from the front and side... but stock looks great from all angles.

OEM aerokit, but that strosek looks damn good I must admit. On 6spd, somebody put a 997tt blade on a 996tt, also looked good in an OEM way.

Agreed. Some of the bolt on wings out there look too overbearing compared to the smooth flowing silhouette of Pinky's original design.

OE Aero kit wing looks fine.

Or OE GT2 wing may be preferred.

I thought that comment was hilarious - mine is still stock but if I were to "upgrade" I personally like the GT2 decklid/wing. Get OEM or a really good quality aftermarket and have it painted at a good bodyshop.

Wasn't a big fan of the aero wing before I got the car but love it now when I've been able to see it from all possible angles.

Does the GT2 or Strosek "fix"/workaround the common hydraulic failure issue with the stock wing? Maybe I'm asking if these are fixed or retractable?

The Strosek add on wing will only go up and down like the factory spoiler as long as your hydraulic system is still working properly if not then you can purchase a fixed wing kit for $150 on eBay and same goes for GT2 add on spoiler. So yes they are retractable but can also just easily be fixed position.
