Default Replace missing CD magazine changer?

Dumb question, but my 996tt has the wonderful Porsche OEM nav/CD changer unit.

It's missing the CD magazine changer since I bought the car. Not that I play CDs that often anymore, but am wondering if it's worth finding a replacement magazine unit.

I saw one on ebay for $43; not much, but am wondering if it's worth buying to keep everything "complete" in case I sell the car so the next buyer won't wonder why it's missing or to keep the OEM nav/CD set complete. Part of me also is wondering about this "missing part"...

If the car is all stock and you plan on keeping it that way- yes- if not why bother. I prefer an all stock car when it comes to the 911 but I'm in the minority.

Docboy,
What year is your car? I have two that fit both our 2003 C2 (most system) and our 2004 Mercedes. One is yours for shipping if it works for you.

Thanks guys!

I have a 2002 996tt. Unit says CDC-3.... I *believe* 2003+ use CDC-4. Let me know if one of yours says CDC-3

Sorry, I meant the CD changer unit. My CD changer in the frunk says CDC-3. Since your 996 is a 2003, I guess the CD changer is a CDC-4 unit, so our magazines are likely not compatible. Thanks for the generous offer though!

I sold the car last year. My new one, 2004 996, does not have a changer. That is why I have the orphaned cassettes.

Found a pic, head unit in car = CDR-23

I thought you meant the changer, not worth adding unless you plan on using..

He wants to play an existing changer that is mounted in his car. Original owner took the cassette and shipping is just too damn $$ to experiment with one of ours..

Mine changer looked like this one.

The cassettes look like this

Should be easy/cheap to find once he figures out exact part, did mistakenly think he needed whole unit.
