Default New member and first time owner, 996 Turbo

It was finally time to pulled the trigger. I have been searching for a year for a manual 996 Turbo coupe with black interior and finally came across one with only 33k miles on it. It has been well cared for and even smells new when you get in.

The car has been completely stock since 2003 until the last couple months before I purchased it. Only modification was a Kline exhaust system but the stock exhaust system accompanied the purchase. The rear wing mechanism was completed replaced by the dealer about two years ago so it works properly. There are no coolant leaks as inspected by two independent shops, one in Kansas City and one in San Diego.

It now has about 35k on the odometer after my flight to Kansas City to pick it up and drive it back on Interstate 70. It was a great drive to start my experience, through Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and finally into California.

Anyway just excited to have found such a well maintained 996 in basically stock condition and operating as expected off the show room floor.

The Kline exhaust through the mountain pass tunnels of Colorado were spectacular.

Hmm, I haven't been watching the local for sale ads. Who had it - dealer or private individual? Nice car - welcome. Would love to have bought you some bbq and given you a quick tour of the Kansas City Automotive Museum when you were in town.

Actually I found this one on ebay at a very reasonable price with a lot of extras. So I spoke with the owner (private individual) multiple times before bidding.

I have to say I was not expecting much of Kansas or Kansas city. But to my surprise I actually liked Kansas as I drove through it, definitely a beautuful state. But those tornados...

Turbo in the high altitude really shines. Is the kline steel or inconel?

Funny thing, I did not know Kline had an option for inconel, so I spoke to the previous owner and we got the paperwork out on the purchase. Well low and behold it is an Kline inconel exhaust also.
