Default PPI questions & recommendation in New Jersey

I am looking for a recommendation for a PPI in Northern New Jersey. Specifically in the Saddle River / Ramsey (Bergen County) area. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Also I have a few questions:

Is it OK to get a PPI from a local Porsche dealer if I can't find someone independent?

Also how does the sequence of events usually go? I'm hopefully going to see the car on Saturday. Should I try to get the PPI done while I'm there? Or negotiate the price and even put a deposit down pending a PPI getting done a few days later? I've never bought a used car before so any guidance would be very helpful.

Thanks!
Adam

Saddle River (Bergen county) is nowhere near Monmouth (County). Its O.K. to have dealer inspect. Make sure to get a DME read-out either way. I don't know any independent shops in Bergen, but somebody should know of a couple. Do a search on this subforum for checklist of items to cover specific to the 6 turbo.

Thanks. I meant to write Saddle River / Ramsey. Not sure where Monmouth came from. I'll edit my first post now.

For the past 2+ years I have taken my car Elite Motors in west Lodi.
Sam (owner) is smart, honest, competent and dedicated to quality.

With Sam's help I avoided a problem car, and found my dream car that he acknowledged as a solid car.

The shop has done routine maintenance, some complex problem solving, and some custom work.

In the coming months I will work with Sam on additional maintenance and custom projects.

When you have a shop that has dedicated people you can look forward to partnering with them on each project.

Good Luck!
