Default AC not working

Hey all,

So while I was installing a new plenum a few weeks ago I mistakenly removed an AC line and let out some freon. The AC didn't blow cold after that so I took it to a friends shop to have it charged. They did a evac, vacuum and recharge. The system is fully charged and there are no apparent leaks, but the compressor will not kick on. We checked all the fuses and even reset the ecu to no avail.

Any ideas? The AC worked fine prior to this.

Sounds like the pressure switch may be hung up. There is a pressure switch usually on the high side that will keep the clutch on the compressor from engaging when the pressure drops.

Do you know where about this switch is? Or how to reset it?

Not sure, its usually by the dryer. Probably cant be reset but needs to be replaced. When you find it pull the connector off and jumper it, turn the ac on. If the compressor clutch engages you should feel it getting cool. If it cools then it proves the switch is bad. This is all based on the fact the system is poperly charged.

Looks like ref #19 in below parts breakout.

I'm such a stooge. The friggin compressor was unplugged. I must've forgotten to plug it back in when I was swapping the plenums.

It's such a small plug. So easy to overlook, lol.

Can somebody tell me where the AC low side port is located?

I need to add just a smidgeon of juice but for the life of me can not find the dang port.

Never mind, found it.

AC is now blowing 41*
