Nice car!!! Congrats on entering a new realm. Enjoy. I think that your shifter is a 996 short shifter not a 997. Same on my 996.

actually it is neither, PO described it incorrectly. It is the B&M short shifter according to the Porsche dealer receipt I have. Receipt says "Upgrade to porsche 'short shifter'" which seems kind of odd since not a porsche part.
