If I fly over from the UK with wife & 2 x kids, where can I rent a Porsche?? Is AShville the nearest airport to fly into? Sounds like a great 1 week break to me!!

You stumped me on the Porsche rental. Regarding the airport, if there is an airport in Asheville, you can't get much closer than that!!
I will update Post #1 so that you can see the current schedule and list of attendees.

Oh, one last thing, tomorrow is the absolute last day for sign-up at the alternate hotel. After that, you are on your own.

 

You'd have a bit of a drive, and it would be expensive, but you could rent a Porsche in Florida. You might also check some of the higher-end resort areas like Hilton Head, South Carolina.

 

Hilton Head, according to Mapquest, is about 900 miles away. There is an airport in Asheville. I can fly into Asheville rom Londoin Gatwick (via some US stopover), but me & family would look a bit daft in a midsize rental amongst all the Porsches!!

I'll look into P-car hire in more depth!

I still haven't found any Porsche rental places on the eastern side the US....anyone got any idea where I can rent one for a day or two for the Tail of the Dragon drive??
